Is Cancun Safe for Medical Tourism and Bariatric Surgery?

Cancun is considered a safe destination for medical tourism, including bariatric surgery. The city is a popular choice for international patients due to its high-quality medical facilities and experienced healthcare professionals. Our partnered hospitals and clinics adhere to strict international standards, ensuring your safety and well-being throughout your medical journey. Additionally, Cancun has a well-established infrastructure for tourism, which includes robust security measures to ensure the safety of all visitors.

Hotel Accommodations in Cancun for Our Patients

We arrange accommodations for all our patients at Hampton Inn Cumbres for the night before their scheduled surgery and the evening prior to their departure. This ensures convenience and comfort during your medical visit.

Should you prefer a different experience, you are welcome to choose alternative accommodations that suit your preferences. Cancun offers numerous stunning beachfront hotels that provide exceptional views and amenities. We encourage companions to explore the variety of options available, as dining out in Cancun can be a delightful part of your travel experience.

Cancun is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and safety, making it a top choice for solo travelers. It is one of Mexico’s most tourist-friendly cities, celebrated not only for its beauty but also for its high standards of safety and hospitality. Patients frequently express feeling incredibly secure during their stay, even when on their own.

However, if you prefer the additional support and companionship, bringing someone along can also enhance your comfort and provide peace of mind. The choice is completely yours, and we are here to support whatever decision you make. What to pack for the Bariatric Surgery trip?

1) GAS X STRIPS

One of the symptoms of Gastric Surgery is Gas. Even though you’ll be purchasing prescribed gas meds to take back home from Mexico, lots of patients have found these strips to be helpful .

2) Extension cord

Most people bring their smart devices to keep in contact with friends and family back home but sometimes the charging cord for the device is not long enough. This extension will help keep charged all the time .

3) Mouthwash or Breath Spray (travel size)

Your breath will be stinky. You won’t want to get up and brush your teeth and you’ll probably have visitors. Bring a small breath spray so you aren’t worried about offending anyone with bad breath. Remember, you’ve just changed your digestive system and even if you’re not prone to get bad breath, you will probably have bad breath and want a quick fix.

4) Small Toothpaste & brush

You will be uncomfortable and you’ll be in and out of sleep. Its great to have your preferred pillow with you. For those who are driving to Mexico you can use it for the ride home in the car (especially if its a long ride). If you’re someone that can sleep on any pillow, then bring a pillow case. The pillow cases at hospitals tend to get washed in lots of bleach and they become scratchy and hard. But don’t forget to bring your pillowcase home with you.
